Zmodul
Zmodul is a modular hardware platform designed to enable scalable, reconfigurable embedded systems. It uses interchangeable modules, called Z-modules, that connect to a common backplane or bus and supply power, processing, memory, and I/O. The design goal is to allow engineers to assemble systems by recombining functional blocks without redesigning the whole platform.
Z-modules follow a defined mechanical footprint and electrical interfaces, supporting hot-swapping and plug-and-play installation. Common module
An open specification published by the Zmodul Consortium outlines mechanical dimensions, connector layouts, signaling levels, and
Developers use reference toolchains, firmware libraries, and a module catalog to design and publish Z-modules. Certification
Common domains include robotics, automation, embedded prototyping, and research. Its modularity reduces rework and speeds iteration,
