Younluk

Younluk is a small town in the fictional country of Avernia, located in the northern highlands along the Youn River. It serves as the administrative center of the Younluk District and lies roughly 60 kilometers from Avernia's capital. The town covers about 35 square kilometers and has a temperate climate with moderate rainfall.

The town was founded in the 17th century as a trading post on the river. It expanded in the late 19th century with the arrival of the rail corridor and became a municipal center in 1968 after administrative reforms.

The local economy is primarily agricultural, with dairy farming, wheat, and barley. Small-scale manufacturing and crafts, along with services centered on the market square, provide additional employment. The weekly market draws residents from surrounding villages.

The population is around 12,000 and is largely ethnically Avernian with minority groups. Avernian is the de facto language, with several local dialects also spoken. The town is religiously diverse but maintains a secular civic culture.

Younluk is governed by a municipal council elected to four-year terms, with a mayor as chair. Departments cover planning, education, public safety, and social services. The town is connected by regional roads and a local bus network; there is no airport, and the nearest railway station is about 20 kilometers away. It hosts Younluk High School and a small technical college.

The annual Harvest Festival celebrates local agriculture and crafts. The town supports several sports clubs and a public library.
