Yirmeyahu, also known as Jeremiah, was a prominent prophet in ancient Israel. He is the traditional author of the Book of Jeremiah, one of the major prophetic books in the Hebrew Bible. Yirmeyahu prophesied during the late 7th and early 6th centuries BCE, a period marked by significant political upheaval and the impending Babylonian conquest of Jerusalem.
