Yellowfaced

Yellowfaced refers to a group of Old World monkeys belonging to the genus *Macaca*. These monkeys are found throughout Southeast Asia, ranging from the Indian subcontinent to the Philippines and parts of Indonesia. They are characterized by their generally brownish-grey or blackish fur and a distinctive yellowish or pale fur on their faces, a trait that gives them their common name.

The *Macaca* genus is diverse, with numerous species categorized within the yellow-faced group. These include well-known examples such as the rhesus macaque (*Macaca mulatta*), the long-tailed macaque (*Macaca fascicularis*), and the pig-tailed macaque (*Macaca nemestrina*). Yellowfaced macaques are omnivorous, with their diet consisting of fruits, seeds, leaves, insects, and sometimes small vertebrates.
