Woodlandedge

Woodlandedge is a term used in ecology and land management to describe the ecotone at the boundary between woodland habitats and adjacent non-wooded areas, such as fields, wetlands, or urban developed land. The boundary region, or edge, features gradients in light, moisture, temperature, and vegetation structure that differ from interior forest and from the adjacent habitat.
