Wieczorem

Wieczorem is a Polish adverb that denotes the time of an action occurring during the evening. It specifies when something happens, typically after the late afternoon and before night. It is commonly used in everyday speech and writing to describe events or activities planned for the evening, for example: "Wieczorem idziemy do kina" or "Wieczorem nie mam czasu."

The word is formed from the noun wieczór (evening) with the adverbial ending -em, and it is indeclinable, as is typical for Polish adverbs. Unlike nouns or adjectives, wieczorem does not change for gender, number, or case.

Wieczorem is primarily used with verbs to express timing. It can appear at the beginning of a sentence for emphasis or after the verb as a temporal modifier: "Wieczorem spotkamy się z przyjaciółmi" or "Spotkamy się z przyjaciółmi wieczorem." It is also used in phrases like co wieczór meaning “every evening” or każdego wieczoru in more formal style. It implies the later part of the day rather than a precise clock time.

In formal schedules or announcements, more exact times may be given, but wieczorem remains common in informal communication, diary entries, and narrative prose. It communicates a general sense of the evening period without specifying hours, contrasting with terms like rano (in the morning) or po południu (in the afternoon).
