Wellharvested is a term used to describe products, practices, or policies intended to ensure that natural resources are harvested in a sustainable, ethical, and traceable manner. The term is applied across sectors such as forestry, fisheries, agriculture, and wild-harvested goods, and is often used by producers and retailers to signal responsible sourcing to consumers. It is not a formal certification on its own; rather, it may align with established standards and certifications (for example FSC or PEFC in forestry, MSC in fisheries, and other regional schemes) and with company-specific sourcing guidelines.

Core concepts associated with wellharvested include sustainable yield, ecosystem health, biodiversity protection, soil and water conservation, fair labor practices, and transparent supply chains. Practices may involve habitat-based management, monitoring and adaptive management, seasonal and non-destructive harvesting, and traceability from source to product.

Adoption varies by region and sector, and the lack of a universal standard means verification can be inconsistent. Critics warn of greenwashing if claims are not independently verifiable. Proponents argue that wellharvested labeling can incentivize better stewardship when paired with credible verification and stakeholder engagement.
