Vákuumformázás

Vákuumformázás is a manufacturing process used to create plastic parts from a plastic sheet. The process begins with a sheet of plastic that is heated until it becomes pliable. Once softened, the plastic sheet is stretched over a mold. A vacuum is then applied, which draws the plastic tightly against the mold's surface, conforming it to the desired shape. After the plastic cools and solidifies, it is released from the mold. This technique is versatile and can produce a wide range of products, from simple packaging to complex automotive components.

The tools used in vákuumformázás, known as molds, can be made from various materials, including wood, aluminum, or even 3D-printed materials, depending on the production volume and required precision. The vacuum pressure is crucial for achieving accurate detail and a strong bond between the plastic and the mold. This method is particularly cost-effective for producing prototypes and low to medium-volume runs due to the relatively low cost of tooling compared to injection molding.

Common applications for vákuumformázás include food packaging, blister packs, cosmetic packaging, automotive interior parts, appliance housings, and signage. The process allows for the creation of parts with intricate details and textures. The thickness of the plastic sheet used can vary, influencing the final product's strength and durability. After the forming process, excess material is trimmed, and the part may undergo further finishing steps like drilling or painting.
