Vyvodz

Vyvodz is the capital and largest city of Veridia, a sovereign state in the northern archipelago. The city serves as a major political, cultural, and economic hub, with a busy port, a large university district, and a growing technology sector.

The name Vyvodz is believed to derive from Veridian terms meaning "water’s bend" or "confluence." The form is first attested in 12th-century chronicles and has been in use since.

Vyvodz lies along the Delta Coast, bordering the Veridian Sea and the Delta River. The surrounding delta features marshlands and canals, and the city experiences a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters.

The city was founded in the 9th century by coastal clans and developed as a trading hub. It became the national capital in the 16th century and underwent rapid modernization after 1850, including infrastructure expansion and industrial growth.

About 520,000 people reside in Vyvodz. The population is ethnically diverse; Veridian is the official language, with minority languages such as Arin and Leto spoken in local communities.

Vyvodz anchors Veridia’s economy with its port, logistics facilities, and a rising technology sector. Renewable energy and shipbuilding remain important industries, supported by research institutions and incubators.

Governance follows a mayor-council system within Veridia. Notable institutions include Vyvodz University, the Grand Opera House, and the Delta Museum, which preserve the city’s cultural and scientific heritage.

Transportation includes a regional airport, a deep-water port, an urban metro, and an extensive bus network. A system of canals and ferries connects districts, enhancing intra-city mobility.
