Vooluvõimendus

Vooluvõimendus, also known as current amplification, refers to the process of increasing the magnitude of an electric current. This is a fundamental concept in electronics and is achieved through various electronic components and circuits. The primary function of vooluvõimendus is to take a small input current and produce a larger output current, while ideally maintaining the waveform and characteristics of the original signal.

Transistors are the most common devices used for vooluvõimendus. In bipolar junction transistors (BJTs), a small base current controls a larger collector current. The ratio of the collector current to the base current is known as the current gain, often denoted by the Greek letter beta (β). Field-effect transistors (FETs) also exhibit current amplification, where a voltage applied to the gate controls a larger current flowing between the source and drain. Operational amplifiers (op-amps) are another class of integrated circuits capable of significant current amplification, often used in conjunction with other components to create complex amplification stages.
