Vne, short for never-exceed speed, is an aviation term that designates the maximum indicated airspeed at which an aircraft may be operated in normal flight. It is the redline speed shown on the airspeed indicator and is published in the aircraft’s flight manual as part of the speed envelope. Operating above Vne can cause structural damage or loss of control, and the limit is intended to protect the airframe from excessive dynamic pressure.
