Vinyylilevyihin, commonly known as vinyl records or LPs (long play), are analog sound storage medium formats. They consist of a flat disc, typically made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC), with a continuous spiral groove etched into its surface. As the record spins on a turntable, a stylus (needle) traces this groove, vibrating and translating the physical undulations into an electrical audio signal.
