VikosAoos
Vikos–Aoos National Park, also known as Vikos Aoos, is a protected area in northwestern Greece, in the Epirus region. It covers parts of the Zagori area in the Ioannina regional unit and surrounding mountains, and was established in 1973 to safeguard the landscapes created by the Vikos and Aoos rivers as well as the traditional villages that dot the area. The park includes the Vikos Gorge, one of the world’s deepest canyons, and the adjacent Aoos Valley, with rugged limestone peaks, forests, and alpine meadows.
