Vikasietoon refers to a style of Dutch language used primarily in the province of Friesland, located in the northern part of the Netherlands. The term "vikasietoon" is derived from the Frisian words *vika* (meaning "village" or "region") and *toon* (meaning "tone" or "accent"), indicating a localized dialect or accent associated with rural areas.

This dialect is characterized by its distinct phonetic and grammatical features that set it apart from Standard Dutch and other regional dialects. Some notable traits include a softer pronunciation of certain consonants, such as the replacement of the "g" sound with a "j" sound (e.g., *geld* becoming *jeld*), and variations in vowel sounds.
