The vestim ensemble typically varies significantly between different regions and ethnic groups within Romania. For Romanian peasants, the costume often consisted of white linen shirts, woolen vests, embroidered skirts or trousers, and distinctive headwear. The designs frequently incorporated symbolic patterns and colors that held cultural significance, with red, blue, and black being commonly used.
