Verkauft

Verkauft is the past participle of the German verb verkaufen, which means to sell. It is used to indicate that an item has already been sold and is no longer available. The word can also function as an adjective describing something that has been sold, with typical attributive endings: das verkaufte Auto, die verkaufte Ware.

Origin and morphology: verkauft is formed from verkaufen with the inseparable prefix ver- and the standard participle ending -t, without the ge- prefix seen in some other verbs. This reflects a common pattern for prefix verbs in German.
