Unlike air-cooled systems that rely on the circulation of air to dissipate heat, liquid cooling uses a fluid, often water or a water-glycol mixture, to absorb heat from components and then transfer it to a heat exchanger or radiator. This method is particularly effective for cooling high-power electronic components, industrial machinery, and even for large-scale data centers where efficient heat removal is crucial.

A pump circulates the liquid coolant through channels or cold plates that are in direct contact with the heat-generating components. As the liquid flows, it absorbs thermal energy.
