Veddah
Veddah, commonly spelled Vedda, designates an indigenous ethnic group of Sri Lanka. Traditionally forest-dwelling hunter-gatherers who later adopted small-scale horticulture, Vedahs are regarded as the island’s earliest inhabitants and form one of Sri Lanka’s distinct ethnic communities.
