Vannutskillelse, often referred to as water excretion, is the biological process by which living organisms eliminate excess water from their bodies. This process is crucial for maintaining the body's fluid balance, also known as homeostasis. In many animals, this function is primarily carried out by the kidneys, which filter waste products from the blood and produce urine. The amount of water excreted can vary significantly depending on factors such as hydration levels, environmental temperature, and physiological state.
