Valusia is a fictional kingdom located in the western sector of the continent of Elyria, bordered by the Sapphire Sea to the south, the Ironwood Forest to the north, and the Crimson Mountains to the east. The kingdom spans approximately 12,000 square kilometres and is renowned for its fertile river valleys and temperate maritime climate.

The landscape of Valusia is dominated by the Rift River, which bisects the realm and provides a vital waterway for trade and agriculture. Rolling plains in the central basin support extensive wheat and barley cultivation, while the northern highlands are dotted with redstone quarries and mines that supply the kingdom’s growing metallurgical industry. The coastline features a network of natural harbors that facilitate maritime commerce with neighboring kingdoms.

Historical records indicate that Valusia was founded in the early 4th century of the Common Era by the dynastic house of the Valerium line, who claimed descent from the ancient river spirits of the Rift. The kingdom endured several civil conflicts in the 7th and 8th centuries, eventually consolidating under the reign of King Arion III, who unified the territories and established a council of twelve nobles known as the Council of Elders. In the 12th century, Valusia played a decisive role in the Great War against the nomadic Uldari tribes, securing its borders and affording a period of relative peace.

Valusia is governed by a constitutional monarchy; the reigning king or queen advises a council composed of elected representatives from the kingdom’s seven provinces. The legal system blends customary law with codified statutes maintained by the Royal Praetorium. The capital city, Valusia, hosts the royal palace, the Grand Hall of Justice, and a bustling marketplace that attracts merchants from across the continent.

The kingdom’s economy is diversified. Agriculture remains the backbone, with grain and hop exports dominating trade. The mining sector, particularly iron and silver, fuels the production of weapons and crafts. Tourism is also significant, driven by historic sites, cultural festivals, and the famed annual Revelry of the River, a procession that celebrates the kingdom’s founding myths.
