Valorant

Valorant is a free-to-play online tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Riot Games. Released for Windows on June 2, 2020, it blends precise gunplay with character-based abilities, or agents, each with a unique utility. The game emphasizes strategic teamwork, map control, and precision aiming.

Two teams of five players compete in short rounds. Attacking teams aim to plant a Spike, which detonates after a delay, while defending teams try to prevent the plant or to defuse it after it is planted. Rounds are won by eliminating opponents or by completing the objective. Players earn in-game currency each round to buy weapons, armor, and abilities for future rounds. Agents provide a wide variety of playstyles, with abilities that reveal information, create environmental advantages, or disable enemies, while all agents share a powerful ultimate that charges over time or through eliminations and round events.

Valorant’s agent roster includes characters from multiple countries, each offering a distinct kit. New agents are added periodically; players unlock agents through gameplay progression and purchases. The emphasis lies on coordination, timing, and resource management, with balance between gunplay, ability usage, and map knowledge.

Maps and modes: The game features several multiplayer maps with distinct layouts and environmental features. Core modes include Unrated and Competitive (ranked) matchmaking, Spike Rush, and a Deathmatch mode for warm-ups and aim practice. Seasonal updates introduce new maps and balance changes.

Technology and platform: Valorant is available for Windows PC and uses Riot's Vanguard anti-cheat. It runs on Unreal Engine 4 and supports regional matchmaking. The game receives regular updates and maintains a competitive ecosystem.
