Unreal
Unreal is a title most often associated with Epic Games’ late-1990s multimedia efforts in collaboration with Digital Extremes. The 1998 first-person shooter Unreal follows an unnamed human prisoner aboard a prison transport that crashes on the planet Na Pali. The player must navigate alien environments, combat human and alien foes, and ultimately struggle to escape, with the game noted for its expansive outdoor levels, atmospheric visuals, and a blend of shooting and puzzle-solving gameplay. It also contributed to the development of cutting-edge 3D graphics and AI for its time.
