Valenmore

Valenmore is a fictional town in the coastal region of Northmere, commonly used in world-building exercises and illustrative maps.

Situated on a natural harbor at the mouth of the Valen River, the town is surrounded by marshland to the south and rolling hills inland. The climate is temperate maritime with mild winters and cool summers.

Valenmore originated as a trading settlement in the 11th or 12th century, growing around the harbor and the guilds that controlled ferry and timber trade. It was fortified in the late medieval period, and modern development expanded along the waterfront.

Today Valenmore has a mayor-council government. The town council handles local planning and services. The population is approximately 12,000 residents, with a mix of fisherfolk, craftsmen, and service workers.

Economy centers on fishing, seafood processing, timber products, and tourism. The harbor hosts seasonal markets and a small marina used by regional ferries.

Notable features include the Old Lighthouse, the stone Guildhall, and the Valenstone Cathedral ruins.

Educational institutions include Valenmore College of Maritime Arts. Transportation includes a regional rail line and a coastal road network.
