Vabaturus is a term used in fantasy literature and role-playing game settings to denote an ancient coastal city-state. In these works, Vabaturus is described as a once-prominent trading hub that connected inland resource districts with maritime networks across the eastern Mediterranean.

Scholars within these narratives debate the origin of the name. Some suggest a Proto-Semitic or pre-Latin root related to water or shore, while others treat it as a deliberate fabrication by later scribes to evoke antiquity. The form varies by edition and author.

Geographically, Vabaturus is placed on a sheltered harbor along a rocky coast, with fortified walls surrounding an upper citadel and a lower mercantile quarter. The harbor features quays, warehouse basins, and a broad agora that opens to the sea.
