The VQ37VHR is a 3.7-liter V6 engine developed by Nissan as part of the VQ engine family. It is an HR (high-rev) variant that pairs a 24-valve dual overhead cam configuration with Nissan’s Variable Valve Event and Lift (VVEL) technology, along with variable timing on both intake and exhaust camshafts. The engine uses an aluminum block and heads and a chain-driven valvetrain, delivering a balance of performance and everyday usability.

Introduced in 2007, the VQ37VHR powers several high-performance Nissan and Infiniti models, most notably the Infiniti G37 (sedan and coupe) and the Nissan 370Z. In these applications, power output varies by model and year but typically falls in the range of roughly 330 to 345 horsepower and about 270 to 273 lb-ft of torque, reflecting its focus on strong mid-range torque and high-end flexibility.

Transmission options for the VQ37VHR have included both a six-speed manual and a seven-speed automatic with manual shift mode, depending on the vehicle.
