Väritahroja, meaning color stains in Finnish, refers to unwanted marks or discolorations on surfaces caused by dyes or pigments. These stains can occur on a variety of materials including fabric, paper, wood, and skin. The severity and removability of a väritahra depend on several factors: the type of colorant, the material it has stained, and how long the stain has been present.

Common sources of väritahroja include spilled ink, paint splatters, dye transfer from clothing, or even natural pigments from fruits and vegetables.
