Vákuumkeményítés refers to a process used in materials science and manufacturing where a material, typically a polymer or composite, is cured or hardened under vacuum conditions. This technique is employed to achieve a more uniform and void-free final product. The vacuum environment helps to draw out trapped air and volatile byproducts during the curing phase, which can otherwise lead to defects such as bubbles, porosity, or delamination.

The process usually involves placing the uncured or partially cured material in a vacuum chamber. The chamber is then evacuated to a low-pressure environment. Heat may be applied simultaneously or subsequently, depending on the specific material and its curing mechanism. The reduced pressure facilitates the escape of trapped gases and promotes a more complete chemical reaction for thermosetting polymers. For composites, the vacuum consolidation helps to ensure good fiber impregnation and a dense matrix.
