Ussuriusk

Ussuriysk, also transliterated as Ussuriusk, is a city in Primorsky Krai, Russia. It lies on the Ussuri River, about 100 kilometers north of Vladivostok, and serves as an important regional transport hub on the Trans-Siberian Railway. The city’s location places it within the Far Eastern economic and logistical corridor.

The locality originated in the late 19th century as a frontier outpost and railway station built to support Russian expansion in the Far East. It developed through the early Soviet era and grew into a settled urban community, eventually attaining town status in the early Soviet period.

As of the latest estimates, the population is around 100,000 residents. The city functions as a regional administrative and logistical center and supports an economy based on light industry, timber processing, and food production, complemented by services and commerce.
