Practices and applications: Userfirst informs product roadmaps, interface design, content strategy, and customer support. It is applied across web, mobile, and service design, as well as in policy and public-sector work that seeks to improve user experiences with complex systems.

Limitations and critique: The term can become vague if not anchored in concrete methods and metrics. Balancing user needs with business goals, technical feasibility, and accessibility requirements can require trade-offs and prioritization.
