Urinmoq

Urinmoq is a fictional mammal described in speculative fiction and world-building contexts. The term derives from a constructed Neridian language, where urin means shadow and moq denotes creature; together they describe a nocturnal, elusive animal native to the riverine ecosystems of a fictional Lunari Basin.

Physical characteristics: Urinmoq is roughly cat-sized, with a body length of 40–55 cm and a tail of 20–28 cm. Its dense fur is iridescent dark blue with silver speckles. It has large amber eyes and flexible paws suited to both land and shallow water.

Habitat and range: It inhabits swampy riverine forests and wetlands in the Lunari Basin, a subtropical region of the setting. It favors murky waters and dense vegetation that provide cover during daylight.

Behavior and diet: Nocturnal and solitary, it hunts by stealth, feeding on small fish, amphibians, crustaceans, insects, and fruit. It can swim and dive briefly, using underwater escape when threatened; vocalizations are soft chuffs and whistles.

Reproduction and development: Breeding is seasonal, with litters of two to four. Gestation lasts about two months; offspring stay with the mother for several months before dispersing.
