Uplengen
Uplengen is a municipality in the province of Groningen in the northeastern Netherlands. Located along the banks of the Eems River, it is part of the larger region known as the Eemsmond. The municipality was formed in 1990 through the merger of the former municipalities of Uithuizen, Uithuizermeeden, and Uithuizerwijten. It covers an area of approximately 120 square kilometers and has a population of around 18,000 residents as of recent estimates.
