Eemsmond
Eemsmond was a municipality located in the province of Groningen in the Netherlands. It was situated in the northern part of the province, along the coast of the Wadden Sea and the Dollart bay. The municipality was established on January 1, 1990, through the merger of the former municipalities of Uithuizen, Uithuizermeeden, Hefswal, Kantens, Oldenzijl, and Usquert.
The name Eemsmond referred to the mouth of the Ems river, which flows into the Dollart. The
