Ualakú is a fictional archipelago, its people, and their language, created for world-building in speculative fiction. In the primary setting, Ualakú comprises eight tropical islands located off the southern coastline of a larger continent. The largest island, Kaimu, serves as the cultural and political center, while smaller islands specialize in fishing villages, craft workshops, and trade posts. The landscape features volcanic coastlines, mangrove forests, and coral reefs that shape everyday life and navigation.

The Ualakú language is central to the culture in many narratives. It is described as an agglutinative language with vowel harmony and a rich system of evidential markers. Noun classes reflect social roles rather than biology, and verbs encode aspect and mood, with typical sentence structure matching a subject–object–verb order. Phonology favors open syllables and includes a glottal stop contrast. History and politics within the fiction trace settlement to multiple waves from the north around the medieval period. Local governance historically rested with coastal chiefs, gradually giving way to a loose confederation that coordinates inter-island affairs. In modern narratives, the archipelago maintains a decentralized administrative system, with a cultural council preserving language, rituals, and maritime knowledge.

Culture and economy emphasize seafaring, crafts, and markets. Community life centers on festivals dedicated to sea produce and harvests, with music featuring percussion and wind instruments.
