UPCET

UPCET, or Uttar Pradesh Common Entrance Test, is a state-level examination for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in engineering, architecture, pharmacy, agriculture, management, and computer applications at participating institutions in Uttar Pradesh. It was introduced to provide a single platform for admission across multiple universities and institutes and is viewed as the successor to the earlier UPSEE framework in its current form.

The exam is conducted by a state authority designated by the Government of Uttar Pradesh. It is typically offered on an annual basis and conducted in a computer-based format. Applications are submitted online, and the test is designed to assess aptitude and subject knowledge relevant to the chosen program.

Eligibility criteria and program offerings vary by discipline and year. For undergraduate programs, candidates usually must have completed higher secondary education with appropriate subjects, while postgraduate programs require a relevant bachelor's degree. Individual institutes and programs may impose additional requirements, reservations, or age norms as dictated by government rules and the conducting authority's brochure.

The undergraduate test generally includes objective questions across subjects such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology, with sections tailored to engineering, agriculture, pharmacy, or other streams. The postgraduate papers focus on the core discipline and related areas.
