Tähtikaavioita, known in English as star charts or celestial charts, are diagrams that depict the stars, constellations, and other celestial objects visible in the night sky. These charts have a long history, dating back to ancient civilizations that observed the stars for navigation, timekeeping, and astrological purposes. Early astronomical records often included rudimentary star maps.

Modern star charts are typically two-dimensional representations of the three-dimensional celestial sphere. They can be printed in books, on posters, or generated digitally by software. These charts usually display the positions of stars, often color-coded or sized to indicate their brightness (magnitude).
