Tyhjiöpakkaaja

A tyhjiöpakkaaja, commonly known as a vacuum sealer in English, is a kitchen appliance designed to remove air from a package before sealing it. This process significantly extends the shelf life of food products by preventing oxidation, dehydration, and the growth of aerobic bacteria and mold.

The typical operation involves placing food, often in a specialized vacuum bag, into the machine. The lid is then closed, and the machine creates a vacuum, drawing out the air. Once the air is removed, the machine seals the opening of the bag with a heat seal, creating an airtight barrier.

Tyhjiöpakkaajat are used for a variety of purposes. For food preservation, they are invaluable for storing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and fruits in the refrigerator or freezer for longer periods without freezer burn or spoilage.
