Tutkintapolut, in Finnish higher education, are structured study pathways designed to guide students from a bachelor's degree through to a master's degree and, in some cases, further studies. They spell out the recommended sequence of courses, the prerequisites, and the credit targets that define a degree's progression. The concept aims to provide transparency and help students plan their studies and manage workload.

Typically a tutkintapolku comprises core compulsory studies, field-specific studies, electives, and practical training or project work. Degrees in Finland are built around ECTS credits; a bachelor's degree commonly accounts for about 180 ECTS and a master's degree for about 120 ECTS, with the total often around 300 ECTS for integrated bachelor-master pathways. A tutkintapolku may also include specialization tracks, minors, or bridging courses to ensure smooth progression between levels.

Universities and universities of applied sciences design tutkintapolut and publish them in degree guides and on study planning tools. Students use local study plans and national information services (Opintopolku/Studyinfo) to view the official structure, check progress, and request credit transfers or recognition of prior learning.

Benefits include greater transparency of degree requirements, easier course planning, and improved mobility between programs or institutions. Challenges can include keeping polut up to date across faculties, balancing flexibility with structure, and accommodating changes in curricula or student needs.
