Tudáskérdések

Tudáskérdések is a term used in Hungarian pedagogy to describe questions designed to assess knowledge recall and factual information. The singular form is tudáskérdés and the plural tudáskérdések. The word combines tudás (knowledge) and kérdés (question). In educational practice, tudáskérdések target the learner’s ability to remember defined facts, definitions, terms, dates, or basic procedures.

In practice, tudáskérdések are used in exams, quizzes, worksheets, and formative assessments to gauge foundational knowledge and to structure lesson pacing. They are commonly seen as a way to establish a factual baseline before or alongside more complex tasks. Formats include short answer, true/false, or multiple-choice items that require retrieval rather than analysis.

Examples of tudáskérdések include questions like: Mi a definíciója X-nek? Melyik évben történt Y? Nevezze meg a Z elemeit. Such items prioritize recall over interpretation, and they are typically contrasted with higher-order questions that require application, analysis, or evaluation.

Criticism and contemporary use: many educational approaches warn against overreliance on tudáskérdések because they may promote rote memorization rather than deep understanding. Modern assessment often blends tudáskérdések with tasks that require critical thinking and problem-solving, emphasising alignment with learning objectives, reliability, and fair scoring.
