Tsirkuleeruks

Tsirkuleeruks is a term used in Estonian technical literature to denote a device or subsystem that maintains circulation within a system. The word derives from the verb tsirkuleerima, to circulate, with the suffix -uks forming a noun for a device. In practice, a tsirkuleeruks refers to any component that promotes the continuous movement of a medium—liquid, gas, or even information—in a closed or semi-closed loop.

Functions and types: A tsirkuleeruks is typically designed to prevent stagnation, stabilize flow, and support heat transfer or chemical mixing. In liquid systems, active examples include pumps and circulator motors; in gas pipelines, fans or blowers may serve the function. Passive forms include gravity-driven loops, check valves, and strategically placed constrictions that encourage flow. In microfluidics or electronics cooling, compact on-chip or integrated circulators may be used.

Applications: The concept is used across engineering disciplines. In heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), tsirkuleeruks help circulate water or refrigerants.
