Trükikihina

Trükikihina, often translated as "printing layer" or "print layer," refers to a fundamental concept in additive manufacturing, commonly known as 3D printing. It describes the individual, thin stratum of material deposited by a 3D printer to build up a three-dimensional object. In most 3D printing processes, the print head or extruder moves across a build platform, depositing material according to the digital design file, layer by layer, until the entire object is complete.

The thickness of each trükikihina is a critical parameter that influences the final print's resolution, surface finish, and strength. Thinner layers generally result in higher resolution and smoother surfaces, as the stepping effect between layers is less pronounced. However, printing with thinner layers also increases the overall print time, as more layers are required to achieve the same height. Conversely, thicker layers can speed up the printing process but may lead to a rougher surface finish and visible layer lines.

Different 3D printing technologies employ distinct methods for depositing these layers. Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) extrudes melted thermoplastic filament, while Stereolithography (SLA) and Digital Light Processing (DLP) cure liquid resin with UV light. Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) fuses powdered material using a laser. Regardless of the specific technology, the principle of building an object through the sequential deposition of discrete trükikihina remains constant, forming the basis of all additive manufacturing. The precise control over the trükikihina is what allows for the creation of complex geometries and intricate details characteristic of 3D printed objects.
