Depositing is the act of placing something somewhere or entrusting it to someone else, either physically or conceptually. The term appears in everyday usage as well as in specialized fields, where it describes processes that add material, form layers, or commit information.

In banking, depositing refers to placing money or checks into a bank account. This can be done in person, at an automated teller, or through electronic transfers and mobile apps.
