Trypanoresistance refers to the ability of an organism, typically a host animal, to resist infection or overcome disease caused by trypanosomes. Trypanosomes are parasitic protozoa that cause significant diseases in humans and animals, most notably sleeping sickness in humans and nagana in cattle, both transmitted by tsetse flies.
