Trollen

Trollen is a term derived from the Old Norse word "troll," referring to a mythical being found in Scandinavian folklore. These creatures are often depicted as large, ugly, and strong, inhabiting mountains, forests, or caves. Descriptions of trolls vary significantly across different tales and regions. Some are portrayed as solitary and dangerous beings who prey on humans, while others are depicted as more human-like, living in hidden societies. In modern usage, "trollen" has also come to describe a specific type of online behavior. Internet trolling involves deliberately posting provocative, inflammatory, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or social media platform. The primary goal of an internet troll is to disrupt conversations, provoke emotional responses, and generally cause distress or annoyance among other users. This behavior is often characterized by a lack of constructive intent and a desire to elicit negative reactions.
