Trello

Trello is a web-based project management application that uses a kanban-style board-and-card interface to help individuals and teams organize tasks and workflows. Each board represents a project; lists denote stages or categories; and cards capture individual tasks, with options to add descriptions, due dates, assignees, checklists, labels, attachments, and comments. The system emphasizes visual task management and lightweight collaboration.

Trello was created by Fog Creek Software (now Glitch) in 2011 and launched as a public product. In 2014 the company spun Trello out as a separate entity. Atlassian acquired Trello in 2017 for approximately $425 million, integrating it into its portfolio of collaboration and software development tools.

Key features include a drag-and-drop interface, real-time collaboration, checklists, due dates and reminders, file attachments, labels, filtering, activity history, and mobile apps for iOS and Android. Trello also supports automation via its Butler feature, and extensibility through Power-Ups, which add integrations with services such as Google Drive, Slack, GitHub, Jira, and calendar apps.

Trello is available in a free tier and paid plans that add features such as more boards and automation, advanced checklists, enhanced security, and enterprise-grade controls.
