Traktionsschleifen

Traktionsschleifen, also known as traction loops, are a concept primarily used in the context of vehicle dynamics, particularly in automotive engineering and the study of wheeled locomotion. They represent a theoretical or experimental method to analyze and understand the forces that enable a vehicle to accelerate, decelerate, and steer. Essentially, a traktionsschleife visualizes the relationship between the forces applied at the tire-ground contact patch and the resulting motion of the vehicle.

The core idea behind a traktionsschleife is to depict the limits of the tire's grip.
