Trachipterus

Trachipterus is a genus of ribbonfish belonging to the family Trachipteridae. These are deep-sea fish characterized by their elongated, ribbon-like bodies and often vibrant colors. They are found in temperate and tropical oceans worldwide. Trachipterus species typically have a relatively small head compared to their body length and possess large, expressive eyes. Their fins are also distinctive, with a prominent dorsal fin running along much of their body.
