Toimituslähtöistä

Toimituslähtöistä is a Finnish term used in logistics and supply chain management to refer to the elements and data associated with the initiation of a shipment, i.e., the delivery start. The plural form is used when discussing multiple events or data points across the supply chain.

In practice, toimituslähtöistä describe the origin and timing of outbound deliveries from a supplier, manufacturer, or warehouse to customers, distributors or transport partners. The concept appears in shipment documents, procurement contracts, ERP and warehouse management systems, and various performance and compliance reports. It focuses on the moment and place where goods begin their outbound journey.

Key components commonly included are the departure location (origin), scheduled and actual departure times, order reference, customer or ship-to information, carrier and transport mode, packaging, quantity, and the condition of goods at departure. The data may be defined by contract terms or Incoterms, and in many cases covers the handover to the carrier as the start of the transport.

Uses of toimituslähtöistä include planning and optimization of outbound logistics, real-time shipment visibility, calculation of lead times and transportation costs, and inventory management. They are essential for performance measurement (such as on-time departure and delivery reliability) and for auditing and regulatory compliance within supply chains.
