Tipoloogia
Tipoloogia, or typology, is a method and product of classification in which objects, events, or phenomena are grouped into types based on shared characteristics. Typologies are used to summarize variation, compare instances across contexts, and generate explanations about how forms relate to functions, origins, or processes. The term derives from Greek typos meaning “type” and -logia meaning “study of,” and in many languages, including Estonian, tipoloogia is the standard term.
