Tindisublimatsioon

Tindisublimatsioon, also known as dye-sublimation printing, is a digital printing method that uses heat to transfer dye onto materials such as plastic cards, paper, or fabric. This process involves a printer that heats a ribbon containing solid dye. The heated dye then vaporizes and infuses into the surface of the substrate, creating a permanent and high-resolution image.

Unlike inkjet printing which sprays liquid ink onto a surface, dye-sublimation creates a continuous tone image, similar to a photograph, with no visible dots or pixels. This results in vibrant colors and smooth gradients. The process typically involves multiple passes, with different color ribbons (cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, often referred to as CMYK) applied sequentially to achieve the full spectrum of colors. A clear protective overcoat is often applied as a final step to enhance durability and provide resistance to UV light and smudging.

Tindisublimatsioon is widely used for printing items like identification cards, photographic prints, custom apparel, banners, and promotional merchandise. Its ability to produce high-quality, durable, and fade-resistant prints makes it a preferred choice for applications requiring professional and long-lasting results. The initial cost of dye-sublimation printers can be higher than some other printing technologies, but the cost per print can be competitive, especially for shorter runs and personalized items.
