Tenars

Tenars is a fictional archipelago nation in the northern seas of the world of Eldoria. The country comprises ten principal islands plus numerous smaller islets arranged in a crescent south of the northern coast. The terrain varies from volcanic highlands to dense temperate forests, and the climate is moderated by sea breezes and regular rainfall.

Port Valen on the island of Valen serves as the capital and largest city; other urban centers include Neris, Kharos, and Lyrin. The population is ethnically diverse, with coastal communities and inland villages; Tenari is the official language, with Eldish and local dialects widely spoken in coastal towns. The archipelago has a high literacy rate and robust small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Tenars was first populated in the late Bronze Age by seafaring groups. In the medieval era it formed a loose alliance of island principalities. The modern state emerged in the 18th century after a peaceful federation, gaining de facto independence in 1764 and constitutional status in the early 19th century. A stable parliamentary republic has governed Tenars since 1901, with a president as head of state and a prime minister as head of government; elections are held every four years.

Economy centers on fisheries, aquaculture, and maritime services, complemented by tourism and growing renewable energy projects, especially offshore wind and tidal power. The archipelago maintains a network of ports and ferries, with the international airport at Port Valen linking to nearby hubs.

Culture reflects a strong maritime heritage, with ropework, boatbuilding, and sea shanties forming common traditions. National festivals celebrate the harvest, seafaring history, and the annual Storm Festival, which marks the start of the storm season.
